Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other but in looking outward together in the same direction. ~Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Wind, Sand and Stars, 1939, translated from French by Lewis Galantière
When most people think of romance, we conjure up visions of two lovers sitting gazing deeply into each other’s eyes. Antonie de Saint-Exupéry has a differing opinion. Love is looking outward together in the same direction.
I can see that. Looking out together, having the same goals, facing the world together.
Would you rather be gazing in each other’s eyes, or looking outward together in the same direction? Or, maybe a little bit of both?
